舞蹈工作坊 Dance workshop

We will be hosting a dance workshop from March to May, every Sunday morning @ NCCU Arts and Culture Center Room101. Different themes will be explored each month.

March: [Stretching the Limits] - Uncover the hidden strengths of your body and expand yourself on stage. Express yourself creatively through body language and be surprised with what you are capable of.

April: [Dance? What's that?] - Ballet, traditional dances, contemporary dance, african dance, jazz, hiphop......etc. The list goes on, but what exactly are they? Get the chance to understand more about this performing art through videos, discussions and sharing sessions.

May: [Broadway musicals] - The glamorous and dazzling Broadway musicals have always been in the center of attention for many theater critics. Easy-to-relate storylines, catchy tunes, funky dance steps. What more can you ask for? Join us as we learn all about Broadway musicals – be it through video clips, understanding the elements of Broadway musicals or its dance choreography. Get the chance to choreograph your own Broadway musical and feel the fire of passion burn inside you once more!

中級班聘請專業師資授課，
課程有把杆技巧、center動作，
更有舞碼教學，例如天鵝湖、胡桃鉗、睡美人...等等。
上課進度較緊湊，
適合有芭蕾底子的人來挑戰自己。

Suitable for those with foundations in ballet

Lessons include: Intermediate Barre-work exercises, center variations, learning classical ballet choreographies.

初級班為社內有舞蹈底子的幹部帶基礎把杆、center動作，
學習簡單舞碼，體驗舞台表演經驗，
課程進度節奏較簡單緩慢，
適合完全沒學過舞蹈卻又對芭蕾充滿熱情的新生來上。

Suitable for beginners in ballet, and those who simply want to experience ballet for fun
Lessons include: Simple barre exercises, quick-to-grasp variations. Get your first attempt of performing ballet on stage too.

4 Clubs Combined Public Performance

During the 99-2 semester, 4 of the school's dance clubs - NCCU Folkdance Club, NCCU Tap Dance Club, NCCU Flamenco Dance Club and NCCU Ballet Club came together at the Audiovisual Theater (3F), Art and Culture Center to have a combined public dance performance, inviting friends and families to celebrate each of the clubs' achievements during the past semesters.

Our club performed three dances: Variation of Le Corsaire - Le Jardin anime, Sleeping Beauty and an adaption of Swan Lake. Each dance was re-choreographed by our instructor so that even beginners can dance to classical ballet pieces and feel the excitement of dancing on stage.

A group dance adapted for beginner’s class to allow them to have the chance of performing on stage, enjoying the spotlights.

睡美人 奧羅拉之舞 Sleeping Beauty

Solo performance by our founding chairperson, Katty Chen, who created NCCU Ballet with her passion and love for ballet.

黑天鵝&白天鵝 Adaption of Swan Lake

Following the craze for the movie "Black Swan", our instructor choreographed an adaption of Swan Lake, allowing us to have the chance of performing one of the most celebrated ballet pieces. As an encore, we danced a version of modern ballet to the song “Beat it” by Michael Jackson, both in commemoration of the King of Pop and also to overthrow public’s opinion towards classical ballet.

Huang Chih-Chia

Having learnt ballet for 15 years at Taichung's Imperial Eleven Ballet, and after graduation from School of Theatre (Directing) of Taipei National University of the Arts (TNUA), Kerry is still actively involved in the field of performing arts. Some of her performances include the school’s Winter Performance in 2007 and 2009; light design in the play “Play Games” in 2009 and 2010, etc. With her many performance experiences, she inspires many club members with her passion towards performing and dancing.

芭蕾舞社社團簡介 about NCCU Ballet

政大芭蕾舞社成立於民國98年，
是目前全台唯一的大學芭蕾舞社團。
創社至今參與校內多次表演及聯合舞展公演，

還曾協助電影黑天鵝之宣傳獲各媒體報導。
本社社員除了政大學士班、碩博士班及畢業生外，

還包含了來自台大、世新、師大等鄰校成員。

社課內容以俄式古典芭蕾為主，
使用瓦家諾瓦舞校教材(Vaganova ballet course)，
並設初、中級兩班，
中級班包含基礎硬鞋課程，
歡迎舊雨新知一同來和我們享受芭蕾的優雅氣質！

NCCU Ballet was founded in 2009, and is currently the one and only ballet club among colleges in Taiwan. Since its establishment, the club has participated in various inter-school performances. We also had the privilege of assisting in the promotional event for the screening of the movie, "Black Swan".Besides NCCU students, we also have friends from National Taiwan University, Shih-Hsin University and National Taiwan Normal University. coming to join us for club activities.

Our club focuses on Russian classical ballet and materials are adapted from the Vaganova ballet course. We have two classes: Intermediate and Beginners' class to cater to different students' needs and interests. We welcome all to join us in experiencing the gracefulness, beauty and strength of ballet!
